Working visit of friends-partners from Finland to SSC “Demino”

Visits of our Finnish partners and friends from company «Kessu Oy», with General Director Peter Söderholm at the head, to SSC “Demino” became a good tradition before the beginning of the skiing season. Peter Söderholm, Markku “Turbo” Lahtinen, and Michael Kovangi made a lot of useful and important things in a short period of time – three days, from 26 to 28 of October, 2009.

   It would be enough to say that their visit coincided with the beginning of laying of artificial, deposited from previous winter snow on the sprint course. Certainly, advice of one of the leading Finnish and Scandinavian experts of snow and snow cover Peter Söderholm facilitated a lot the laying of the first in Russian and USSR history course made of artificial snow.
   We couldn’t but remember the mission in October, 2008 to skiing centers in Finland where Mr. Söderholm himself trained the employees from SSC “Demino” in main rules of stocking and keeping snow under sawdust till the next season. It was a great surprise for us to learn that Peter Söderholm designed and provided 110 Finnish skiing and downhill skiing centers with snow producing systems! Many of these systems have worked perfectly for several decades!
    During their working visit to “Demino” Peter Söderholm and Michael Kovangi examined and adjusted high-pressure pumps and snow producing machines (snow guns). But the most important thing was training snow guns staff in service of complex machinery.

In his turn, Markku “Turbo” Lahtinen gave a course to the employees responsible for special tractor and snow consolidating equipment (ra-tracks). To understand how important to “Demino” this equipment is it’s enough to say that our 11 courses have FIS Homologation Certificates and are prepared by ra-tracks. Ra-tracks are made with the help of aircraft construction technologies (electric and hydraulic systems). The help of Peter Söderholm and Markku “Turbo” Lahtinen was just in time! The experts from Finland found a lot of damage in ra-tracks, which must be removed before the beginning of the new season the culmination of which is WC “Rybinsk-Demino”, 22-24 of January, 2010.
Management of SSC “Demino” thanks our friends from Finland for their help, lesson, and professionalism. We understand that without participation of «Kessu Oy» “Demino Cup – first snow 2009” would not have been so successful.
